Brunei Darussalam is entering the Northeast Monsoon in early December 2021 and is expected to persist until around end of March 2022. The first two months of Northeast Monsoon (December 2021 and January 2022), also known as the rainy season, are the months that normally receive the highest amount of rainfall and have recorded the highest number of rain days, in comparison to the other months. During this period, the country normally experiences unsettled weather conditions with occasional heavy showers or thundershowers especially during the night until early morning.

Our climatological data shows that December recorded an average rainfall of 358.9 mm, and an average rainfall of 320.6 mm for January. The average number of rain days for December and January are 22 days...

Negara Brunei Darussalam akan memasuki Monsun Timur Laut pada awal bulan Disember 2021 dan dijangka akan berterusan sehingga sekitar hujung bulan Mac 2022. Pada dua bulan pertama Monsun Timur Laut (bulan Disember 2021 dan Januari 2022) yang dikenali sebagai Musim Tengkujuh, pada lazimnya menerima jumlah turunan hujan yang banyak dan merekodkan bilangan hari-hari berhujan tertinggi jika dibandingkan dengan bulan-bulan yang lain. Brunei Darussalam is still in the Intermonsoon season where active weather condition usually occurs in the afternoon and at night.

Heavy rainfall is forecasted starting tonight (23 November 2021) until 25 November 2021 due to active development of rain clouds over our country. Showers and thundershowers are expected to be heavy and gusty at times with wind gust may reach up to 45 km/h.

Over Brunei waters, sea state is generally slight to moderate reaching up to 1.8 m throughout the week.
